“History clearly demonstrates that spiritual vision sustains civilization.
Without such a vitalizing spirituality, the ultimate heart of religion,
civilizations ultimately decline, and are taken over by other systems.”
~ Br. Wayne Teasdale (The Mystic Heart, 48)
Have you ever thought of wanting to be a part of a worldwide spiritual community that is open to all people– men and women, married and single, young, middle-aged, and old, confused or clear, adherents or not, with faith or agnostic– yet still united in their desire for a deeper, more meaningful life.
Have you ever thought that you might want to become “A Mystic or Monk in the World?” Well if any of this intrigues you in any way, then I would suggest that you visit “The Community of the Mystic Heart” website at: http://communityofthemysticheart.org/ There you can find out more and learn about this vital, emerging community.
Below is a quote from the Mission statement of the Community of the Mystic Heart:
The Community of The Mystic Heart offers a welcoming space for mystics and contemplatives of all faith traditions, or none – free of pisive doctrinal differences – to practice, to dialogue, to deepen, to expand, and to seek the commonality, while respecting the persity, of the world’s great mystical teachings. We practice Interspirituality, defined by Brother Wayne [Teasdale](1) as the sharing of ultimate experiences, spiritual insights, spiritual practices and resources across traditions, and we collaborate with other organizations in projects and initiatives that are congruent with our mission.
It is run as an holoarchical organization. That is, there is not a hierarchy or anyone to follow other than your own Divine Self. People volunteer their expertise and take responsibility for their areas of responsibility.
